Fashion Trends for Spring 2010 – What Are They All About?
It’s unlikely most people think fashion when they hear the word “football” but there are a couple of designers who are doing just that. Alexander Wang and Alexandre Herchcovitch are two designers who have the gridiron on their minds with Spring 2010 fashion. From Herchocovitch’s over-sized cage dresses to Wang’s shoulder pads, knee socks and mesh linings, football theme’s were not making exactly the buzz these designers were hoping for on the runway at Fashion Week.
There were plenty of other fashion nightmares on display from some of the great designers at Fashion Week. If you’ve been missing the 80s, Marc Jacobs has what you’ve been aching for- or does he? Remember those large head bows in bright obnoxious colors? Bold prints too loud for anyone but the most brave? Jacobs embraced both in his line for his new spring line. Of course, like always, Jacobs also had designed that turned heads in exactly the right way- Stripes, short shorts and ruffles everywhere inspired Jacobs to surprise everyone.
On the fashion win side of the scorecard, Oscar de La Renta showed a classic blue cocktail dress with blazing red accessories that any fashion forward woman would love to wear. He also showed a princess gown truly made for royalty and perfect for a high-end luxury event. Donatella Versace was also making classy headlines with bold use of prints, chain mail and very short skirts.
Riccardo Tisci showed once again that you can’t go wrong with Givenchy- geometric stripes in black and white set the tone for this collection. Look for draped pants, and tulle dresses as well as goddess dresses and leggings, platforms and kilts in the spring line.
Spring 2010 is bound to have a variety of looks if the fashion trends from haute couture and designer ready-to-wear lines are any indicator- which, of course, they are.
